Land, Theology, and Repair: Indigenous Leadership and the Church’s Responsibility
Date: Thursday, November 19, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM ET
Cost: $0 (Free Registration Required)
Location: Online via Live Stream (Link provided upon registration)
Join SojoAction for an Indigenous-led conversation about land theft, theology, and the church’s responsibility to participate in repair. Part of our Bridging Divides: Faithful Conversations series, this webinar will feature Amy Juan of the International Indian Treaty Council, with additional panelists to be announced.
Together, we will examine how Christian theology has been used to justify the taking of Indigenous lands and consider what accountability asks of churches today. Centering Indigenous leadership, the conversation will explore how congregations can reckon honestly with their histories and support Indigenous communities’ work for sovereignty and the protection of sacred lands.
This is a particular invitation to white congregations and Christian institutions to reflect on their relationships to land, power, and resources. What responsibilities come with the land our churches occupy? How can listening lead to meaningful action? Join us as we consider what faithful steps toward repair might look like in our own communities.
