Over the last nearly 100 days of the Trump Administration, our nation has seen alarming acts of executive overreach—actions that attempt to sideline Congress and threaten the constitutional balance our democracy was built to uphold.

In Washington, D.C., every Wednesday since the first of March, faith leaders have prayed and acted, calling on Congress to have moral courage. Our witness —and that of millions of people across the country demonstrating, attending town halls, and calling their elected representatives —is having an impact.

We are standing together, people of all faith backgrounds, to demand that Congress act with courage to stop executive overreach.

A coalition of 29 organizations from The Washington Interfaith Staff Community (WISC) have co-organized multi-faith vigils call on Congress to exercise greater moral courage in upholding its Article 1 powers as a co-equal branch of government. These nonpartisan vigils speak truth to power, highlighting what’s at stake and the communities already harmed. They feature faith leaders from diverse traditions offering inspirational prayers and calls for faithful action.
