This past weekend, the Trump Administration used largely peaceful protests as a pretext to escalate its abuse of executive power—arresting labor leaders, deploying the National Guard against state wishes, and sending Marines into our streets.
Now, Congress is preparing to give him billions more to expand raids, detention centers, and an already bloated deportation force. At the same time, this bill slashes Medicaid and SNAP, cutting life-saving support from the very people under attack. We cannot allow our communities to be terrorized by federal agents while essential care is stripped away. This is a moral crisis and an authoritarian overreach.
As a faith-rooted community, we are called to resist state violence and protect the dignity of our neighbors. Tell the Senate to reject funding for ICE and defeat this reconciliation bill—before more harm is done.
