Faithful Witness Wednesday
April 16, 2025

During a time when many faith traditions are pausing for prayer and reflection—Holy week for Christians, Passover for Jewish people, and the recently-ended season of Ramadan for Muslims— we are mindful of the ways that faith encourages us to genuinely care for one another, our society, and the world.

Sojourners is one of 29 co-sponsors from The Washington Interfaith Staff Community (WISC) that are co-organizing a series of faithful witness vigils at the Capitol every Wednesday through the end of April. These multi-faith vigils call on Congress to exercise greater moral courage in upholding its Article 1 powers and stop executive overreach. These nonpartisan vigils will speak truth to power, highlighting what’s at stake and the communities already harmed. They feature faith leaders from diverse traditions offering inspirational prayers and calls for faithful action.
