Demand Congress Keep Healthcare Affordable!
We need Congress to reverse the planned rate hikes on insurance for people throughout the United States. The subsidies attached to the Affordable Care Act are set to expire, and cuts to Medicaid make this a moment of crisis as healthcare coverage throughout the country is under attack.
With the loss of Medicaid funding, we’ve already seen rural hospitals plan to close. With an additional loss of coverage from those who can’t afford high-rate hikes, we will see more healthcare providers forced to shutter their doors as well. In addition to this, we will see more and more people avoid seeking the care they need to thrive within our communities.
Congress has an opportunity to save healthcare for people who would otherwise be forced to lose their coverage. Affordable healthcare is not a privilege—it’s a moral responsibility.
