Bridging Divides: Perspectives, Practices, and Division in the American Church

Join us on April 9th at 7pm ET / 4pm PT, as we explore how communities of faith can move from paralysis toward grounded, proactive responses shaped by the way of Jesus. We’re grateful to be joined by two leaders who bring both spiritual depth and real-world experience. Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs offers an Indigenous, place-rooted perspective shaped by years of racial justice work and community-based leadership in Minnesota. Rev. Sandra Maria Van Opstal brings a formation-and-movement lens—equipping faith communities to pursue justice, disrupt oppressive patterns within the church, and practice solidarity with clarity and care. Together, they’ll help us imagine what it looks like for congregations to respond faithfully—without losing our humanity, our hope, or our moral center.
